navy blue coat

Well well, it has been some time since the last time I blogged, but it's good to know that I'm back! With more street shots and outfits and more. This blue coat I wore to my afternoon tee with J last week is a perfect example in case anybody wondered what I was wearing during my absence on the blog. This is a truly classy coat, now isn't it? A more than correct marine-blue color that screams its military-inspired look and timelessness, finished off with double breasted gold buttons that enhance the navy look, all I can say is that I love this coat.

Coat: Topbuyer;
Cashmere jumper: H&M;
Crisp white shirt: Esprit (the Perfect Ten collection);
boots: Mango (old)

See how I went a little preppy with this look? Personally I've got to say that I'm not a big fan of preppy, at all. Yet my random choice of dressing for a casual cup of hot beverage reflects the fact that I actually have a preppy side! There you have it. Oh and today's the traditional Chinese Yuan Xiao Fest, where we eat mochi-like little rice cake treats, how I love those fests. Happy year of snakes people, now that the Chinese new year has officially been welcomed, there's no more reason to continue my holidays. May this year be an excellent one!

new purchases, old possessions

Pictures above showcasing my latest sale purchases: cos top that is yet to be unveiled; zara tweed blazer in military khaki green.
Some old but gold accessories which include the MMM for H&M silver candy wrapper clutch; the crazy and simplistic MMM for H&M key ring necklace.

The rest of the photos are merely some strange decorations, by strange I mean the plastic orchids. Im my defense here, I must state that I do have real orchids in the house that are blooming wonderfully.

Now back to the topic, winter sale is usually the best sale time of the year, but this season I did not score a lot of sale-deals, which probably has something to do with my ever so busy college life and the tight budget of mine. You may have noticed that I got a new camera that I carry around all the time, an interchangeable lense camera to be exact. And we know that cameras are not cheap.

Did you score something truly nice at sale? Let me know.

ss 2013 ad campaigns round-up

I thought it'd be entertaining if I do a 'love or loathe' on the ad campaigns of the big fashion houses that are out now. Since I didn't quite like the idea of every big brand doing pre-fall collections, I didn't even catch up with all the collections that are out there. The reason for that is simple, pre-fall lookbooks are oftentimes way too commercial or too out of context. Pre-fall collections are superluous in my eyes basicly because their main goal is to fill the gap between the spring summer season and the actual fall season. I remember louis vuitton's last pre-fall collection, which was cute, pretty and wearable but had nothing to do with lv's regular rtw customers: the grannies (remember lv fall 2012?). But it was cute, this I have to admit.

Moving on to the main subject of this post, the advertising campaigns of ss 2013! Here are the ones that I love:

Miu Miu

Balenciaga

Prada

Saint Laurent Paris

Ready to spread some critics? These campaigns are the ones that I loathe:

Burberry
Burberry being on top of my loathe list has its reasons. Firstly, I didn't get the cheeky young boy laughing crazily at serious-looking, provocatively-showcasing-bare-thighs models situation. Secondly, the fact the british brand only uses british people in its ads makes the campaigns way too predictable and old-fashioned, in a negative sense. Thirdly, I still don't quite get Romeo Beckham's role in the ad campaign, despite the fact that his parents are uk's most famous celebrities.d

Kenzo
Kenzo,seriously? This human X-pose was refreshing last time. Now it only makes people wonder how often this will recur. And by the way, kenzo was more elegant once up a time!

What are your favorites and least favorites this season? Let me know.

fat snow

It's snowing like crazy here in Vienna and the fat fat fat layer of snow has blocked me from college. Here's me messing around in the garden. Aren't winter days awful? I want to wear thinner coats and jackets already! I layered my mango flannel shirt with a beige cardigan and than added a grey knitted vest from grandma, now that's what I call heart-warming! Unfortunately I didn't manage to show my other coats on the blog. I feel that I'm photographed in this trf leopard faux fur coat way too often. More and other interesting coats are coming up, I promise.

Stay warm and start counting the days of spring's arrival. They say when winter is ruling, it also means that spring is near.
